Daily Devotional: 3/21/2018
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.
This world is a dark place, I said it before and this will not be the last time I put it in a devotional. It is, it was no God’s intentions when he created us and created this world that darkness will take over. But just like everything else God uses it for his advantage. He allows all the bad things that happen in this world and to us to show us his power. He uses it to bring us closer to him. He uses it to show he has something better for us not only not only on this earth, but in heaven. No matter what happens on this earth whether you are the richest person, whether you are the poorest person, if you are the happiest to the saddest, there is nothing compared to the treasures and everything we get in heaven. One of the things God did to show us that he is taking advantage of this dark world for his and our benefit was sending his one and true son, Jesus. Jesus taught us what to do. He was perfect, and he was the perfect example on how to live life. He showed us how to fight the devil and the darkness. He showed us how to love. He showed us how to sacrifice. He loved everyone no matter the situation he was in or the situation they were in. He took everyone in with open arms. He told us what God was looking for. He told us how to go about what God is looking for. He showed us how to go about what God is looking for. He showed us and told us these things so we may have peace on this earth. He did this so we can have internal and external peace. He knew that we will face daily troubles on this earth, but with Jesus these troubles are no match. When we have on the full suit of armor of God there is nothing that can penetrate us. It is the strongest of metals. There is no gaps. There is nothing that can sneak its way past us to kill and penetrate our soul and heart. Jesus was able to overcome this world, and so will we. We will be able to overcome this world, thanks to Jesus. But we will only overcome this world with Jesus. We cannot do it alone. He died for our sins in order for us to be forgiven and in order for us to have an eternal life in heaven. He did this all for us. Take heart and follow Jesus. Take heart and be the example and light in this dark world. Show that you have Jesus on your side. Do not allow people to question your love and your intention. Do not allow them to question whether you have Jesus or not. Forever show that you have the light on your side, because that is the most powerful thing you can do. Show you have Jesus, and spread the love of Jesus. Be an example, take risks, love everyone even your enemies. Be a difference.
Lord, I pray that no matter what the devil throws at us today he will not effect us. Do not even allow the devil to scratch us. I pray that we put on the your full suit of armor. That you are with us protecting us and guiding us. Allow every trouble that we have today and we have had to guide us and mold us to be the men and women you want us to be. Use everything for your advantage. Allow your light to shine brighter in us then ever before. Allow the light to blind people in the darkness. Allow the light to be a path for not only us, but the people around us. Continue to allow Jesus to be an example for us. He was able to overcome this world, I pray you continue to guide us through it so we an do the same. Allow your will to be done on this earth as it is done in heaven. I pray all this in your son’s name, Amen.
