Service: Role of the Holy Spirit (John 16:1-15)
-bad news first, good news next - leaving and we are going to be persecuted, get the Holy Spirit
Point 1: The Holy Spirit is our Helper (v.7)
-our helper, our advocate
-have to accept him into our mind, heart and spirit - then the spirit will help us
-Greek - paraklētos - advocate;helper;intercessor 
-holy spirit will be there for us - he will stand by our side - he will help us 
-just need to speak up and invite him in
-"one who mother's us" - one translation
-will go to the Father on our behalf - will give us the words - will protect us (from bullies/the devil)
-we were and are never meant to do it on our own
-lawn mower needs gas - we need the Holy Spirit - allow him to guide us 
-walk with the spirit - allow the spirit to walk in your life
-Luke 11:9-13 - ask God
-ask/seek/knock
Point 2: The Holy Spirit Proves that the World is Wrong (v.8-11)
-the world seems appealing - advertisement/friends - Holy Spirit sees through that 
-sees through the smoke and mirror of the world - is the X-ray
-but we don't want it - we choose sin
-then we feel bad/hurt/guilt - we choose to say no to God and to the Church
-Holy Spirit will help you make he right decision
Point 3: The Holy Spirit will Guide us to all Truth (v.13-15)
-Truth is like gravity - say no we are being foolish - a law is a law
-live in the Spirit - walk in the spirit 
-always be a rookie - be a learner - be a grower - beginner mindset
-done through the Spirit
-face the truth - the truth always wins
-allow the Spirit to guide you and show you the Truth -character/demeanor/ethusthism
-have to search high and low - break the floor

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” Romans 15:4. Everything, and I mean everything, in the Bible was written for us. From Genesis all the way to Revelations. Even the books of law in Exodus, Deuteronomy, and Leviticus. All that is written can be used to spread the word and love of Jesus. “ALL Scripture is god-breathed” (2 Tim. 3:16). It is used to teach, rebuke, correct, and train.It is “sharper than any double-edge sword” (Hebrews 4:12). It is alive and active. Everything that is written in the Bible no matter the time period is still relevant today. We age, but God doesn’t. That is why it is important to continually be in the Scripture. We have to continually read, study, and talk about it. We have to train in righteousness and be ready for the day when Jesus comes back. We first looked at the story in the Bible, now we look at a song that is inspired by the story. Trip Lee is the man. A man with many talents and many titles; he is a pastor, blogger ( http://builttobrag.com/ ), writer, rapper, and father. He was one of the first to join Lecrae over at Reach Records, back in the day where overly baggy shirts and overly baggy pants were the thing (the early 2000s were an interesting time).
