Prayer Summit: Hanging Out With Jesus

This is one of my favorite chapel sermons that I had a school. This was from early 2017, from our "Prayer Summit." The speaker touched on how we should be "hanging out" with Jesus the way we hang out with a friend. These are the notes I took from the day. 

-Hangout with Jesus
-He gave us 2 hears and 1 mouth so we can listen to him instead of always talking
-Take him to dinner, take him on a date, walk with him, be with him, He wants a friendship with us
-We have to love him AND like him, being with him
Curses vs. Blessing Exodus 20:4-6
-curses go from family to family, the sin of the parents go through the third and forth generation. BUT blessing go to thousand of generations 
-blessing unlocks forgiveness 
-just because you surface over it doesn't mean you are making progress 
-Psalm 107:20
Pray the Word 
1 John 5:14-15
-if you want to learn how to pray God's will, pray God's word.
-Psalm 91:-12
-you feel mad, angry, troubled, about/with someone 100% of the time is Gods invitation to intercede in prayer over them 
-pray about things beyond our reach, beyond our boundaries, beyond our power
Pray it to other people, pray it to myself:
-Romans 15:13 
-Psalm 91
-1 John 15: 1-17 
-EPHESIANS 1:
-Ephesians 3:16-21
-Colossians 1:9-14
-Philippians 1:9-11
-1 Colossians 3:12-17
-1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Daily Devotional: 3/23/2018

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” Romans 15:4. Everything, and I mean everything, in the Bible was written for us. From Genesis all the way to Revelations. Even the books of law in Exodus, Deuteronomy, and Leviticus. All that is written can be used to spread the word and love of Jesus. “ALL Scripture is god-breathed” (2 Tim. 3:16). It is used to teach, rebuke, correct, and train.It is “sharper than any double-edge sword” (Hebrews 4:12). It is alive and active.
