Daily Devotional: 5/3/2018

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

God does so much for us on a daily basis that we do not even know about. There are people that are out there trying to ruin us and our love for God and others because the devil in manipulating them. God is there fighting a war behind the scenes every second of every day for our lives. In the end we all know whos going to win. God does not really want anything in return, he does it because he loves us. All he wants in return is that you follow his rules, love him and others, and spread peace and his Word. The way we can do all this is by doing the three things that Paul tells the Thessalonians they should do on a daily basis; that is "rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances." All God really wants is a thank you and for you to talk to him. When we pray we not only grow as a person, but we grow closer to God. We learn how to speak to God, and God gets to see our full heart. When we pray we are vulnerable and open up to God. God is just like a loving parent. He loves us unconditionally and does every thing for us without wanting anything in return. And just like any parent all God really likes to hear is for you to say thank you and for you to call every once and while. Just imagine how your grandma or your mom feels when you actually take the time out of your day to pick up the phone to call them. I know I always get a text message from my dad saying, "Did you call your mother recently? All she keeps saying is she misses her boy and hasn’t heard from him in a while." It brightens their day that much more when you call, even if it is just to say hi and that you love them. It is the little things in life that gets us happy and it is the same for our God. So do the little things, call and talk to God and tell him you love him. Tell him you are thankful for all he does. Remember without God we are nothing, we can only do things through him. God is an almighty God and he loves us unconditionally.

Lord, thank you. Thank you for all you do. For continuing to fight the battle behind the scenes for our life. With out you we are nothing. We cannot do anything on our own. We continually need your help. I pray that you are with us as we continue today. Allow your will to be done. In your son's glorious awesome name I pray, Amen.

Everything, and I mean everything, in the Bible was written for us. From Genesis all the way to Revelations. Even the books of law in Exodus, Deuteronomy, and Leviticus.
