Change is always evolving
Change is a daily occurrence
Never too late to change
We have all the tools
We have support
Change for the betterment
Service: Thriving with Jesus: Read (and Follow) the Signs
-John - book has many themes - love, discipleship, Signs
1 Point: Read (and follow) the signs (John 2:1-12)
-first of the signs of Jesus - water to wine
-running out of wine = embarrassment to groom - lack of hospitality
-Mary goes to Jesus - didn't really know what she was asking - it was his time yet to reveal his glory
-came at him with a sense of authority then responds with obedience
-jars of water = sign of old covenant - for ceremonial washing
-Jesus asked to fill them to the brim - washing done
-wine = the age of the Messiah
-Hosea 14:7
-Joel
-Amos 9:13-15
-prophesies about time to come
-turned water to wine to show that the time of Messiah has come - back then needed a sign - now we need to read a sign
-signs all around us - spring = new life, new things growing
-some signs are simple and if you don't follow the signs it can be very dangerous
-sometimes difference between life and death
-need to pay attention to the signs that really matter
-need to pay attention to the signs of the Messiah the same way we pay attention to street signs
-while reading John: continue to ask what each sign is pointing to - dig and investigate
-how can this sign help someone in my life believe?
