1 Thess 5:1-11 
 - are you ready  

Service: Thrive with Jesus - What Simeon and Anna Saw (Luke 2:22-34) 
-Simeon - godly man (v. 25) 
-Jesus = conslation of Israel 
-Holy Spirit told him he wouldn't die until he saw the Messiah - constantly went into the temple courts to see if he saw him  
-some would in order to live would never try to see the Messiah  
Point 1 - To thrive we must read down walls and barriers between people 
-Jesus came to tear down walls and barriers - bring people together 
-only Jesus can bring people together- so much division in the world  
-have to be intentional about being with each other - understand and be with the cultural difference - embrace the world  
-God is a God of diversity 
-ask questions of others  
Point 2 - Thrive by givings thanks to God 
-Story of Anna - prophet - single woman - God used women too - full of the Spirit - zealous - never left the temple  
-God will use our gifts  
-age and gender and relationships status - God doesn't discriminate 
-deep in the Spirit but knows that she needs more 
-got to give thanks to God - even during the tough times 
-we still got Jesus - some have to do it alone because they don't have Jesus 
-even in the winter look for spring - even in the hard times be thankful  
Point 3 - Thrive by sharing with Jesus with others  
-Anna shared about Jesus - all the things she saw and heard  
- have to leave people know what we found  
-have to push ourselves 
-love God, love people, share Jesus  
-Satan is bullying people all around us- he is the biggest bully in history - have to tell him to stop - have to make him stop - do this by telling them about Jesus  
-have to give them an opportunity 
-have boldness and have courage

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” Romans 15:4. Everything, and I mean everything, in the Bible was written for us. From Genesis all the way to Revelations. Even the books of law in Exodus, Deuteronomy, and Leviticus. All that is written can be used to spread the word and love of Jesus. “ALL Scripture is god-breathed” (2 Tim. 3:16). It is used to teach, rebuke, correct, and train.It is “sharper than any double-edge sword” (Hebrews 4:12). It is alive and active. Everything that is written in the Bible no matter the time period is still relevant today. We age, but God doesn’t. That is why it is important to continually be in the Scripture. We first looked at the story in the Bible, now we look at a song that is inspired by the story. Trip Lee is the man.
