"Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you." Jeremiah 32:17

It all starts in Genesis, which means birth, genealogy, or history of origin. Genesis is the story of where it all began. Genesis 1, "in the beginning." Before anything, on day 0, God created the heavens and the earth. There was nothing on the earth but darkness and emptiness. On day 1, God said "Let there be light" (v. 3-5), God created light in order to separate day from night. On day 2, God said "Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water" (v. 6-8), God created the sky. On day 3, God said "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear…Let the land produce vegetation" (v. 9-13), God created land, seas, and produced vegetation. On day 4, God said "Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth" (v. 14-19), God created the sun, moon, and the stars. On day 5, God said "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky" (v. 20-23), God created sea creatures (fish, monsters, mammals, etc.) and birds. On day 6, God said "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind…Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the seas and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground" (v. 24-31), God created no only all the land animals (livestock, wild animals, etc.), but also mankind (us). Then we move on to the first couple verses (v. 1-3) of Genesis 2, where on day 7 God rested. God did not have to rest. God rested on the seventh day, not because he was tired but because of what he created. What he created was perfect and he wanted to commemorate it. God did this all on his own, this shows immense power. He is the great all-powerful God. Our God is a single God, with three forms. He is a 3-in-1 deal. Its confusing, I know, trust me. You got God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit; they are all one. To confuse you more, because that is God's way we go to John 1:1-5, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." To sum it all up in one word, Jesus. Jesus was there in the beginning with God, because he is God. He is God in the flesh. God can take on anything, there no power greater than him. The devil has tried, oh has the devil tried. One of my favorite examples is Matthew 4, but God has, does, and will forever defeat the devil. The best part God has showed us how to defeat the devil, too. We have to follow his example. We have to be equipped with the Word, we have to be ready at all times. We have live a life full of peace, love, and positivity. We have to love our neighbors, we have to love our enemies, we have to love everyone. Isaiah 59:1-3 says, "Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt. Your lips have spoken falsely, and your tongue mutters wicked things." First off if you want to feel the impact of this passage, personalize it. God's arm is not too shirt to save. His ear is not too dull to hear. He wants us to come to him. He wants us to trust in him. When we go to him our path will become straighter; we experience his love, grace, mercy, and his strength. Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through him who strengthens me." Isaiah 41:10 says, "But they who wait for the LORD shall renew through; they shall mount up with winds like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." 2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." Exodus 15:2 says, "The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him." He created the heavens and the earth. He has and continues to defeat the devil constantly. He created us in his beautiful perfect image. There is nothing too hard for him. We have to go to him and that is what he wants. We have to trust in him, he is our Heavenly Father.

Lord, thank you for being our rock and our protector. Thank you for being you always. Thank you for granting us mercy even when we do not deserve it or even believe in you. You are the perfect example to follow all the time. Give us the strength and wisdom to follow that example. I pray you continue to be our fighting force and use your strength for your benefit. I pray all this in your son's name, Amen.
