HAPPY EASTER, Daily Devotional: 4/1/2018 RISE AND SHINE

"He is not here; he has rise, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay." Matthew 28:6.

Throughout the Old Testament, the coming, dying and resurrection of Jesus was prophesized. Jesus himself even told and warned his disciples and the hearers that he will die and then three days later will resurrect. You can find Jesus wherever you are and in whatever you are doing. A perfect example of this is when I was on Snapchat this morning and snapping people. One of the filters since it is a Sunday morning said, "Rise and Shine." But ironically it is Easter Sunday, and both rising and shining are two things that Jesus did! Jesus did and does these things perfectly. Jesus not only our king, but Jesus is the risen king. He was killed on the cross in order for our sins to be forgiven, but that is not even half it. Jesus three days later rose from the dead, to not only fulfill prophesies, but to show his glory and his power as God. This is not something that happens a daily basis, well does not happen at all, but Jesus did it. His body did not only just leave the tomb, but he went around to his disciples. Jesus shone every day he was alive and he continues to shine. Jesus is the light to the world. He is the eternal light that shines infinitely. Once you have the light of Jesus everything in life is much clearer and brighter. You no longer live in the darkness of the world. You are no longer a slave to fear. You are no longer a slave to this world. The light of Jesus breaks every bound and chain that holds you down. Jesus's light is the brightest light. It literally blinded Paul, which then led to him being saved and coming to Jesus.  Today, thank Jesus for coming to us and dying for us. Thank him for being our light.

Lord, thank you. Thank you for being the resurrected King. Thank you for dying for our sin. Thank you for being the light in the dark. Thank you for being the light to my path. Continue to shine bright in my life. I pray that your light shines bright through me. I pray that your light shines so bright through me that people are curious and are drawn to that light.

Happy Easter, #LetsBeAMovement
