Daily Devotional: 3/13/2018

“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.” John 1:9.

In the previous eight verses of this chapter before this verse it talks about how Jesus is the Word; also it talked about John. John was sent by God to testify about the light, but he was not the light (v 7-8). Jesus was and is that light. Jesus came into this world, in order to live as an example for us. Jesus brought light into the world that was so dark. He was the anomaly of the age. There was no one he would turn a cold shoulder to if they asked for help. He helped all people if they came to him. This is one of the things we should today. We are called to be the light in this world (Mt. 5:14). This is what I pray and dream this to become. I pray that we will reach millions and spread the light of Jesus. Continually be a difference maker and help others, make people smile, be the anomaly, pray for your enemies. #LetsBeAMovement

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33. This world is a dark place, I said it before and this will not be the last time I put it in a devotional. It is, it was no God’s intentions when he created us and created this world that darkness will take over. But just like everything else God uses it for his advantage. He allows all the bad things that happen in this world and to us to show us his power. He uses it to bring us closer to him. He uses it to show he has something better for us not only not only on this earth, but in heaven. No matter what happens on this earth whether you are the richest person, whether you are the poorest person, if you are the happiest to the saddest, there is nothing compared to the treasures and everything we get in heaven.
