"I know I'm in the dark and I gotta find my way to the Son; Cause You're calling on your name and I know I can't run; But I feel so back and forth." Andy Mineo - Tug Of War Tug of war is a contest in which two teams pull at opposite ends of a rope until one drags the other over a central line. A couple weeks ago now, before mid-week two brothers and I had a little brother dinner were we just talked and ate. Outside the building we meet there is a volleyball court and some trees. There is a group of guys that come daily to just hang out, play volleyball and to train tug of war. These guys actually compete competitively, my pastor asked and confirmed. They use one of the big trees to practice. They wrapped the rope around the tree and just pull. This is something we do with God. "Momma praying for me, grandma praying for me; Satan preying on me, Jesus waiting on me; Cause I been straddling the fence it's time to make decisions." Andy Mineo - Tug of War Every day is a new battle. You wake up with a rope attached to you. Each decision you make that day (every day) depends on what side you want to let win. At the two ends of the ropes are God and the devil. Sometimes we have to have certain battles throughout the day and our life. Today we will take the positive approach on it, with the tug of war with yourself/the devil. The battle we can win. We live in the world. We live in the lion's den, we live among the dark and the shadows. This is the devil's domain. Everyday we have to fight the temptations and the desires he throws at us. While in the world we

"I been fighting for control and fighting for my soul and; This is war, it's a tug of war." Andy Mineo/Krizz Kaliko ( Tug of War ) Tug of war is a contest in   which two teams pull at opposite ends of a rope until one drags the other over a central line. Tug of war was actually an Olympic sport from 1900-1920. This is still a competitive sport across the world and it is the basis behind these devotionals (which is going to be at least a six-parter). About a week ago, before mid-week two brothers and I had a little brother dinner, we were just talking and eating. Outside the building we meet at there is a sand volleyball court and some trees. There is a group of guys who meet up and play volleyball and also they practice tug of war. These guys actually compete competitively. The one brother was explaining this to us, he was saying how they use a tree to practice. This is something we do with God. We try to play tug of war with something that we are nev

"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21 This world is not ours, this life is not ours. We live this life for God. We should not being living this life   in order to please people and the world, we have to be living for God. Each day he wakes us up is another chance to be the light in the world. He died on the cross in order for us to live the life we have now. Romans 12:1-2 says, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice , holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship. Do not confirm to the pattern of this world , but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." We are called to do a lot for the glory of God. One of the things that we are called to be is a living sacrifice (v.1). This is holy and pleasing to God. Philippians
