Daily Devotional: 4/3/2018 - DOXOLOGY
"Doxology
- a liturgical formula of praise to God."
Wanted to
switch things up, instead of a verse of the day or a lyric of the day I am
going to try my hand at a doxology. It is just a fancy way of saying a praise
poem. There are a couple examples in the Bible: 1
Chronicles 29:10-13; Psalm 41:13, 72:18-19, 106:48, 150:1-6; Romans 11:33-36;
Psalm 57:5,11; Matthew 21:9; Mark 11:9-10; Luke 19:38; Galatians 1:5; Ephesians
3:21; Philippians 4:20; 1 Timothy 1:17; Jude 24-25; Ephesians 3:20-21; Romans
16:25-27; Hebrews 13:20-21; 2 Peter 3:18; Revelations 5:12-13; Isaiah 6:3; Luke
2:13-14; Revelations 4:8,11; Revelations 5:9-14; Revelations 19:1 (just
to name a few). I was inspired by the Beautiful Eulogy's Doxology: Beautiful Eulogy - Doxology
feat. Latifah Alattas of Page CXVI [lyrics in the description] (Braille and
Odd Thomas are what is up) and Romans 11:33-36
(the first doxology I ever read in the Bible).
Oh God
there is nothing above You
You
created this earth, You created this grace
There is
nothing like this place
You give
me strength to run this race
Your grace
and love is what keeps me on pace
You are
full of grace and glory
You are
the immaculate pen to my story
You have
written it all, You have created it all
All
beautiful and perfect, all in Your image and way
You are
always there listening to our prayers and cries, at our beck and call
You always
know what to say
You bought
us at a price, the price of Your blood
You saved
us from sin and eternal death
Give me
strength to bear my cross, it does not matter the cost
I give my
life to You, it is all your's
Allow me
to spread Your word and grace to the lost
Allow my
branch to bear as much fruit as there is sand on all the shores
You are
the reason for life, You gave us breath, You are the Light
Allow me
to reflect that Light and shine bright
All glory
to the Heavenly Father
With all
You we can go much farther, Amen
"Praise God from whom all blessing flow
Praise Him all creatures here below
Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost"
