"What,
then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be
against us?" Romans 8:31
Life is
hard, it is not easy at all. It is especially hard for the generation that we
are growing up in now. The expectations we have on us is crazy. We are expected
to go to college, find a job, get good grades in school, and most communities
you have to be athletic. And this world wonders why the suicide rate is going
up and the amount of people that are suffering from depression and anxiety is
up. I am getting anxious just thinking about it. Be we should not be
discouraged because we serve an almighty God that will help us with more than
we can imagine. There is nothing in this world that can match up to our God and
his strength. The best part is all we have to do is trust, believe, and rely on
him. He wants us to lean on him. There are many examples in the Bible of his
mighty strength. Look at the Israelite army in the Old Testament, when God was
with them he gave them victory any army that was in front of them, no matter
how much stronger or bigger they were. When God was not with they got demolished.
Another example is the strength of Samson, when he had his hair God was with
him and he was stronger than anyone. Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through him who gives me
strength." God gives us the strength to do anything that he wants
us to do. There is nothing that can stop us if we have the mighty hand of God
guiding us. 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares
for you." God wants us to rely and lean on him when we have
trouble. We will face troubles and there are things that we will struggle with,
God wants us to go to him. God has a plan for us, and that plan involves his
glorification. Romans 8:18 says, "I consider that our present sufferings are not
worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us." James
1:2-3 says, "Consider it pure joy, my
brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know
that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." We are
constantly tested, we have to stand firm. There are so many examples of how to
stand firm in testing, you got Jesus in Matthew 8 and you have the entire book
of Job. Job was testing beyond belief, probably so hard that I do not know what
I would have done in his situation. But Job stood firm during the entire thing,
he still believed and he trusted in God. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, "And God is faithful; he will not let you be
tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also
provide a way out so that you can endure it." God will not let us
be tempted with more than we can handle. This temptation are the temptations of
the devil, but it also includes the success that God can give us. God knows out
limits, he knows our desires, and he knows our hearts. God knows what we can
handle, and what we will do even before we know what we are going to do. Romans
8:28 says, "And we know that in all things
God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to
his purpose." God's power is everlasting. This power is shown in
both the Old Testament to the New Testament to now and beyond. He helped the
Israelites, by helping them defeat people they did not have the strength to
beat on their own; he helped them out of Egypt and brought upon them the ten
plagues. Exodus 10:1-2 says, "I have
hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these
signs of mine among them that you may tell your children and grandchildren how
I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and
that you may know that I am the Lord." Jesus showed immense power
throughout his entire ministry all the way up to his death and beyond. He
showed strength through his restraint, love, grace, mercy, he died for us, and
then defeated death through resurrection. He also showed extreme strength during
the crucifixion process, he showed extreme restraint and he also refused gall
which is a type of pain reliever (Matthew 27:34).
God has always promised to always be there for us and to always love us. We are
more than conquers. Romans 8:37 says, "in
all these things we are more than conquers through him who loved us."
With the faith as small as a mustard seed and with the strength God gives us
nothing can stop us. We can move and overcome mountains. We can save the world,
with the help of our Superman, God. All we have to do is grab on to his cape.
Lord,
thank for always being with us. For all the grace, mercy and love that you show
us. You are an almighty God and there is nothing that can compare to you. With
you we can move mountains and overcome anything. You have the strength to
change us and mold us to. Help us glorify you in all that we do. Your strength
has no match, your love has no match, you have no match. I pray all this in
your son's glorious awesome name, Amen.
