-Peter gets his call - excited - would be sent out to fish for me

-first direct personal struggle with Jesus

-first to acknowledge that Jesus was the Mesaiah  
Matthew 16:21-25 
-Peter recognizes Jesus as Mesaiah but doesn't really get it - Jesus tells him to go behind him (still has a lot to learn) 
Matthew 19:16-27 
- 
Matthew 26: 31-35, 69-75 
-failed to make Jesus Lord - wept bitterly  
-crash wasn't bad - wake up call 
John 21:16-19 
-make sure that Peter does love him  
-2 Peter 1:1-11 
-Peter now gets it

We have to love one another, even our enemies. We gain joy by believing in Jesus and following his teachings. There is everlasting joy just knowing he has our back even during the tough times. “For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” Romans 15:4. Everything, and I mean everything, in the Bible was written for us. From Genesis all the way to Revelations. Even the books of law in Exodus, Deuteronomy, and Leviticus. All that is written can be used to spread the word and love of Jesus. “ALL Scripture is god-breathed” (2 Tim. 3:16). It is used to teach, rebuke, correct, and train.It is “sharper than any double-edge sword” (Hebrews 4:12). It is alive and active. Everything that is written in the Bible no matter the time period is still relevant today. We age, but God doesn’t. That is why it is important to continually be in the Scripture. We have to continually read, study, and talk about it. We have to train in righteousness and be ready for the day when Jesus comes back. We first looked at the story in the Bible, now we look at a song that is inspired by the story. Trip Lee is the man. A man with many talents and many titles; he is a pastor, blogger ( http://builttobrag.com/ ), writer, rapper, and father.
