Daily Devotional: 4/6/2018 WALK BY FAITH

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6.

As mouthbreathers naturally one of our biggest weaknesses is trust. We do not trust each other, and that goes the same with trusting in God. It is so hard to trust for us because we are natural born liars. We lie and are lied to on a daily basis. We lie to in order to protect someone, in order to not hurt someone’s feelings, out of deceit, out of hate,  and out of love. If we received a dollar for every time we have been lied to, we would all be gazillionaires. There is one thing we can trust in 100% of the time. That is in God. God has never lied to us, and he will never lie to us. God is blunt with everything he does. Sometimes we try to think he is lying to us and we do not trust in him because we are scared. We are scared of the truth. Sometimes the truth and that is the brutal reality behind it. God will never forsake us or leave us. God will be with us til the very end. Once we put our full trust in him life will be so much easier. We will not be in a constant battle with him, because reality is we will never win that battle; we will constantly lose that battle, no matter how big our army is. Trusting God goes beyond truth and lying, it goes into action. We have to trust in God in all he does, the same way we trust in our parents and elders. There will be things put in our life that we do not understand, but we have to trust in the process. God may be testing us, he may be making us stronger, we will never know if we do not trust in him. There is story that I read once that basically said that we have to constantly trust in God, even when we don’t. As humans we only trust what we see (that is why it is so hard for some people to even believe in the idea of God). If there is giant brick wall in front of us, we will hesitate to jump over it because we cant see what is on the other side, we will hesitate even if God promises us treasures on the other side. The impala can jump over 10 feet high and can jump over 30 feet in distance. But the thing was the impala you can keep it in an enclosed area with a solid fence no more than 3 feet high, because they not jump if they can’t see where they are landing. They walk by sight alone, and not by faith. There are a countless biblical examples that we can follow, like Abraham and Daniel who walked by great faith and at times not knowing what was on the other side. They trusted in the Lord. We have to do the same. We may not like the situation that we are in in this world, but God is using it to make us the men and women he wants us to be. Don’t be like an impala, jump over that wall and trust in God. God has treasures on the other side of that wall. Trust in the process. Once we do that, we will get all the treasures and the promises of the Lord. We will be living godly and like Jesus. Trust in the Lord, follow his Word and your path will become straighter and straight. The bumps and obstacle will be easier to overcome because you will already know what to do and that is trusting in the Lord. He will never put anything in front of us that we cannot handle, that includes both success and harm. Jump that wall today, be a difference, be a movement.

Lord, I thank you for all that you do. Thank you for waking us all up this morning. Thank you for being the most faithful thing in our life. Thank you for never telling a lie. Thank you for always being with us and never forsaking us. Thank you for all you do, we do not deserve you. Lord I pray that you help us walk by faith over sight. Allow us to be with you. Give us the courage to jump over that wall not knowing what is on the other side. Continue to make our path straight. We put our trust in you. I pray all this in your son’s glorious amazing name, Amen.
