"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6.

This verse is from the end of Moses life, he was not very old and could not go much longer, since God told him that he would not cross the Jordan into Promised Land, but his people will. The person that would succeed him would be Joshua. This verse was from when Moses was telling the Israelites that they would cross the Jordan and enter the Promised Land. Moses tells of the many nations that they would encounter on the way to the Promised Land and that are in the Promised Land, but he ensured them not to worry. The nations may be big and mighty and might even out number them, but the Israelites have God on their side and with God on their side they can and will defeat anyway. It is the same for us. We will encounter some very big and scary monster, demons, and obstacles on our journey to the Promised Land. But the good news is that God is there helping guide us on that path. His word is the light to that path. God will never leave nor forsake us, he is there guiding us through every situation that is put in front of us. Another promise that we can live on is that God will never tempt us with more than we can handle (1 Cor. 10:13). That does not mean to test God, but take the tests that God gives us. He has already given us the answers to the final exam. He will help us through every situation, but we cannot do it alone. Look at what happened to the Israelites later on, they tried to battle an army, but God told them not to since he would not be with them. They did not listen and lost so many people. Then again later on, he told them that he would be with them and he helped them defeat a nation that was bigger and stronger than they were. God gives us the strength to defeat the biggest of armies. With him we can do anything, but without him we can nothing.

Lord, thank you for the strength you have given us to get through the day. Thank you for waking us all up this morning. Thank you for the continuous blessing of breath and life. Thank you for the strength to defeat our demons, get over obstacles, and come out on top. Without you we are nothing, we are mere mortals and cannot do anything on our own. With you we can do all things, that you give us strength to do.
