“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path” Psalm 119:105
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit,” Matthew 28:19
We are going to switch it up for today’s devotional. Today we are going to use two verses, the verse of the day (Psalm 119:105) and the blog’s central verse (Matthew 28:19); and it is going to be a long one so buckle up and please keep all hands and feet in the ride at all times. These two verses go hand-in-hand in my life. Psalm 119:105, is the first verse while taking Old Testament that resided with me and from that point on is a constant in my prayers. God is the one that sets our path. He is the one that lays down the foundation, and God is the one that paves it. God’s word is the foundation and the light to or path. Think about it like this, you are in a park at night walking on the sidewalk with light on each side of sidewalk. When each light is off the path is dark and you cannot see anything, but with the light are on you are able to see and are able to walk safely. The only person that can turn on the light is God, and the only way that the light turns on is by reading and abiding by his word. Each step you take (every time you read the word, obey the word, and are with God) another light turns on until you get to the end of the path. That path leads straight to God, and straight to the “pearly gates.” The same way that God’s word is the light to our path, and is the constant light in the word; we have to be the same to the same. We have to be the light to this world (Mt. 5:14). The world is full of darkness, this is were the devil prowls and tries to bring us away from God. The good news is that God is infinite times stronger than the devil ever was and will ever be.
This goes into the next verse (Mt. 28:19). This verse is the central verse to this blog. Jesus throughout his ministry preached on several topics and gave us several missions (spread love and peace to everyone, love everyone, spread the word to everyone). The central themes to his whole ministry were three things into one (just like how our God is 3 in 1, but that’s for another time) love, peace, and everyone. This blog has one purpose (beside glorifying God in everything I write) spread the word and make disciples of all nations. We are all made in the beautiful image of God (Gen. 1:27). There is no room for discrimination, hate, or darkness. Whether you are black, white, yellow, tan, brown, purple, orange, or any other color you are loved by God and deserve to hear and live by his word. The Word is for every color, creed, and nationality; God does not discriminate, because if he did we would all look the same and we would all just be perfect clones of him. But God made us all to look different, and to all have our own personalities and to be beautiful in our own ways. God wants us to make disciples of all nations, not just one nation, but ALL nations. That is why in the logo, there is the earth. This is where we have to base this mission since, obviously, we are on earth. But to get serious, this mission is not only to make disciple in United States, or just North America; but disciples in every country, every continent, everywhere on this beautiful beautiful God created planet. Smack dab in the middle of this logo is a infinity sign. There is several meanings why I put it in the logo, why I made it so big, and why it is in the middle. The infinity sign stands for that there is no end or limit to this blog or mission, meaning the mission is not over until we reach the full extent of it and reach all nations and make disciples of all nations. This blog will not just last one semester (I pray), this blog is going to last until Jesus comes back (I pray). There is no limit to who we can and will reach. This all connects with how on an infinity sign there is no end to it, it just keeps going in its figure eight forever. Also another reason for the infinity sign, is that we severe an infinite God. There is no one or nothing like him. He is the one true and all powerful God. The reason why infinity sign is red and is also a variation of the “crown of thorns” because of who we do this for and who helps us with all we do: Jesus. In the Bible every word that just said is written in red. When Jesus was crucified the Roman soldiers put and drove a crown of thorn into his skull, because he was the “kings of the Jews” (Mt. 27:29). This is same reason why the verse at the bottom of the logo, Mt. 28:19, is red. It is red because these were words Jesus spoke to his disciples before he left. And these words were an important mission that Jesus left for us, and what is more flashy and screams important than the color red. If you go anywhere the most important signs and buttons are the red ones, this is why I think and why I like that all of the words that Jesus spoke are red in the Bible. The importance of every word he spoke is important in everything we do in life. We are a blog that was ONE purpose, to create ONE nation of ALL nations (ALL colors, creeds, and nationalities), because we serve an infinite God that has infinite and unstoppable powers. With him all things are impossible.
Lord, thank you for waking us all up this morning. Thank you for the ability to read your word. I pray that you continue to be the light to our path, and have our path lead to you. I pray and thank you for all you do. Thank you for the ability to draw up the logo, giving me the idea for the logo and everything behind it. Thank you for blessing me with the people around me, and thank you for putting people in my life to help me with the design and the source of the logo, I could not do this all on my own. I pray that you bless this blog and allow it to prosper and allow it to fulfill your mission of spreading the word and making disciples of all nations. Allow this blog to continue to grow on a daily basis. Allow every word that is said not come from us but from you.
