“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15.

One of the main focuses on Jesus’s ministry is peace and love. We are to spread his Word with the focus of love and peace. We have to let peace rule in our hearts. Jesus constantly set an example for us to follow. When Peter drew his sword and cut off the ear of the solider (Mt. 26:51) he rebuked him. He told him to put his sword away and told him that anyone that repays evil with evil will die from evil. The Sermon on the Mount is one of the most important sermons in the entire history of teaching. Jesus rebuked and taught us like nobody’s business. This is a sermon that pastors and followers of Jesus study and tear apart more times than they have been in church. In the sermon, he told us that we should not repay evil for evil (Mt. 5:38-42). He told us if someone slaps us on the cheek to turn them the other as well. If anyone wants your shirt you give them your shirt along with your jacket. We are to be the better person no matter the situation. That is how we show the love us Jesus. The devil will manipulate people and give them evil desires, the way we overcome them is by showing love. Nothing freaks someone out more than when they do something so wrong to you and your response is love. They will be so thrown off, they will not know what to do. You never know that occurrence of love may be the thing that helps them come to the light. Be a difference in someone’s life show them love and peace. Show them that the light is brighter than the dark. Throw people off when they throw evil your way.

Lord, I pray and thank you for you do. I thank you for sending your one true son Jesus to us to be the perfect example of how to live. I thank you for allowing him to be the head to the body. I pray you are with us, allowing us to spread your word with peace and love. Allow evil not to overtake us. Allow the light to shine so bright in our lives that it blinds people. Allow the light to change people’s lives. Allow us to stand firm when people pay us with evil, let the light shine bright in us and protect our heart. I pray all this in your son’s name, Amen.
