Daily Devotional: 3/19/2018
“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” Deuteronomy 7:9.
If you we are going to be real, if you never doubted God at least once then you’re not human. We all have our faults and there are days were we just screaming to the heavens “if you’re real why is this happening?!” But just like everything else, God has a plan. Trust me God never left your side, and he will never leave your side. He was there during the breakup. He was there during your grandpa’s death. He was there as your mom sat there and suffered with cancer. He is here right next to you as you read this. God is an everlasting God. He did not create pain and suffering, but he for sure uses it to his full advantage. God help lead the Israelites out of Egypt and into the Promised Land, and these are people that grumbled against him and his authority constantly. They asked and cursed at him for helping them reach salvation. They created other gods and disobeyed his word constantly. But he still helped them, he never left their side. They were his people and he was never going to leave them no matter the circumstances. And the same is for us, we are God’s people, we are made in his image just like everyone else and he will never leave us. So no matter what you are going through, whether your in a constant battle with your depression and anxiety (as I am), no matter if everything seems like it going wrong; DO NOT forget that God is right next to you even if it feels like he left you. He will never leave us. He is using this time to guide us to be the strong man or woman he wants us to be. Life is hard, but we got Jesus the ultimate Shepard.
I pray for all those that do not feel like they are enough. Show them they are enough, we are all made in your beautiful image and have a purpose on this earth. I pray that as we go through difficult times that we are constantly seeing you, running towards your open arms, show us your face and be with us. Be our loving Father. Break every chain that bounds us to our doubts. Break every chain that holds us down. Break every chain that is keeping us from you. Break every chain that is leading us to destruction. Allow the devil’s hand to never fully wrap his hand around our heart because you are stronger than he is. Allow him to be no match to us. Quiet the voice of doubts in our heads. Be with us. Continue to show us your grace and glory. Thank you for another day of breath, allow us to take advantage of it and enter today with an open mind and open heart. I pray all this in your son’s glorious awesome name, Amen.
